during summer days, odsal is one of the nicest places to watch rugby league.
it has the record for the biggest attendance in RL history in britain.
it's full of tradition and because of how it is shaped, it would be easy to get a decent stadium knocked up there. a roof would give more noise and more atmosphere to games.
i really don't understand how you think it is bleak.
Well according to you yes, I think its bloody awful at the best of times, its old, the facilities are poor, no cover from the conditions, the opposing fans are to far apart and there is fans at only 3 ends of the ground. (You cant call that coral thingy a stand really) and not forgetting there is a big dirty track around it. The atmosphere is shocking at the best of times - thats probably down to us though.
Im not a traditionalist TBH, it holds people back IMO and I see very little need for it. Theres no substitute for Modern Technology

Odsal Stadium or KC Stadium?
I for one would love the OSV to get the nod, but we all know that if were honest the council are going to say "love off Bulls".
At the end of the day you have to look at the cost for building a roof over the ground (we are talking 5-10 million with ease because of the sheer vast space there is at Odsal).
So do we build a roof or do we move out??
This question will be upon us one day and I get the feeling Peter Hood wants us away from Odsal
One Solution - Valley Parade, Great Stadium, Better atmosphere than Odsal, no way that OSV will happen before new shopping centre and chances are that won't happen. If they were to put a new roof on the terracing, the terracing would need repalcing which would cost hundreds of thousands, The coral stand was a total waste of money and i am generally sick and tired of how misrable and boring Odsal Stadium has become, i feel that the only holding Bradford back from futher sucess is our stadium.

that makes no sense at all, according to me you think it's awful?

old doesn't mean rubbish. rugby league is (supposedly) a summer sport, bring a hat/brolly and you're covered from sun/rain.

there is no end for supposing fans, any visitors to odsal can stand where they want. Huddersfield fans normally take advantage of this.
the coral stand is vital for the bulls to get corporate events at the stadium. no sponsorship means less funds.

yes there's a bit of distance between the stands and the pitch but all the more reason for developing the stands to get closer. there's no reason for a move, nor do you point out where we could move to.

Odsal Stadium or KC Stadium?
obviously the KC stadium is nicer but i'd rather not ground share with a soccer team. the pitch gets destroyed and then there's the argument over who gets priority use of the stadium.

valley parade was a massive mistake for the bulls, poor stewarding, smaller pitch, poorer location.
the coral stand was not a waste of money. it provides decent facilities for sponsors.

Lol, thats not what I meant, I was refering to when you said Odsal being a lovely place in the summer, I was saying I think Odsal is awful at the best of times.
My mistake, I knew it would cause confusion but I couldnt be assed changing it. sorry.
old doesn't mean rubbish. rugby league is (supposedly) a summer sport, bring a hat/brolly and you're covered from sun/rain.
No, your right, old doesnt mean rubbish, but Rubbish does, and the facilities are certainley second rate. Youre right it is a summer sport, but as we all know it quite often rains in our summer. I dont want to carting a brolly around with me, I want to be covered from the elements without holding a bloody umberella all game and blocking somebody behind me's view. You still get mickey wet through with a hat regardless.

You can sit or stand where you please in any SL ground, its not football.
the coral stand is vital for the bulls to get corporate events at the stadium. no sponsorship means less funds.
Come on, You cant call that a stand, quite simply because its not, why couldnt they build a proper stand where thousands of fans could be seated and still have corporate suites and such as?
yes there's a bit of distance between the stands and the pitch but all the more reason for developing the stands to get closer. there's no reason for a move, nor do you point out where we could move to.
Yes, I would like the stands to be moved closer but is it likley to happen, it will be more hassle than its worth, along with putting a roof over the terrace IMO.
As for where would we move to, theres plenty of land in the surrounding areas, The land on Richard Dunnes, The Land at Horsefall & The land already surrounding Odsal. Theres also plenty of land around Bradford, we dont have to stay at Odsal, just because its 'traditional'. I wish people would get over tradition and realise its the future that is more important and not about keeping the past in place.
obviously the KC stadium is nicer but i'd rather not ground share with a soccer team. the pitch gets destroyed and then there's the argument over who gets priority use of the stadium.
What does it matter if you ground share for? Bloody hell - its not as if its a big deal. As for the pitches, proffesional grounds men make sure they are in good condition so that really is not an issue. Neither is the priority of the stadium. They are just weak excuses if you ask me.

I couldnt agree more
Who cares if youve got to go 3 mile to the stadium, big f*****g deal.
It would be a complete waste of time and effort to start doing upgrades, mightaswell just knock the placedown and start a fresh.
All teams will have nice new stadiums whilst Bulls will be stuck in the hole still, its a poor do for a top SL club, not to mention that its leaking a massive load of cash at a rapid rate by all accounts.
30 grand just to get a toilet fixed..bleeding hell
Old Thread, Old Hat, It's all been said and discussed before.
Nope we are not talking about VP or about the Coral stand we are talking about the future of are club. VP is a no go, we may as well just stay at Odsal and die.
