If he is likened to Bobby Goulding you have got him at just the right age. Get rid in 3 or 4 years before he turns into a psychopath.

This about EU passports. While legally his employment rights are fine, and allow him to play for us as a Polish citizen. I was always under the impression that the RFL, in conjunction with the member clubs, had basically set the rules for membership of their competitions. They were quite happy for clubs to sign anyone they wanted but then those clubs would be invited to apply to a different rugby league competition if they didn't want to follow the membership rules.

I really hope we haven't decided to force the RFL's hand on this one....

Sammut had a Maltese passport. We were on the stroke of losing him for non-Fed rules until the fallout from his previous administration club allowed him to stay.

I really don't understand this at all.

This is where you would hope the press would ask that question and give us a clear answer . It does appear very confusing even if you have the RFL rules on a screen in front of you . I always assumed the french were a different federation , I guess maybe that is not the case.

French are classed as fed trained since Catalans joined SLE.

Don't forget if there are any quota breaches, the RFL will be aware but will be storing it up to use as a way of docking points towards the business end of the season just in case we're in danger of going back up.

The RFL don't have a good reputation when it comes to 'ineligible' players - apparently they haven't bothered before so this means they can't now..

Can't say im too excited about Sjelka signing. However thats on the back of seeing his performances for wakefield. Im prepared to give him benefit of doubt and see how he goes for us. Won't be first time a players come over and struggled in his first year or even needed a change of club before hitting form, Ah van springs to mind as recent example.
Also need to bear in mind he came into wakefield after season had started. He had no preseason and was coming off back of an injury into a team that was struggling at time under Agar. I'd guess scrumhalf is one of hardest positions to come into and settle immediately. It takes time to work on combinations and integrate into the team.

Haha Probably likened to Bobby goulding as he is now a 40 odd year old - not in his peak. Atrocious at Wakey and not played for months went to Featherstone on loan for a month. A work colleague of mine (a Fev Fan) said he was the worst scrum half they have had in the history of the club and they did not even keep him for the full month. They called him Harry Secombe or Hide and Seika cos he was always missing

TBH I can’t recall ever seeing this kid play. I’ve no idea if he’s any good but it shows the lack of decent halves available if a pivotal position like this is filled by someone who by the sounds of it wasn’t fit and didn’t impress at Wakey of Fev last year.

He’ll be behind a pack that should be winning up front in 2015 so provided he gets fit he shouldn’t have an excuses for being below par. If he is I expect Brook will get plenty of games.

At least we have the squad sorted now and can get stuck into pre season without disruptions. Looking at the squad as a whole it has great depth apart from at halfback and should be able to bag top spot in the championship. As far as winning promotion is concerned that’s another matter but we are stronger than this season which is a plus.
