All this talk of visiting Oxford and Coventry. Presumably you mean 2019 after the next reorganisation when franchising is reintroduced and they put us back in SL

Re: Halifax - Good Friday : Sat Apr 15, 2017 9:02 am
We may still have the threat of relegation to deal with but I would rather watch our side full of young HG players than be a Fax fan.

They were better than us last night, as expected, but as others have said they were nothing special and if you look at results so far across the season we aren't far off where Halifax are despite having no pre-season and losing the majority of our best players.

I am sure Halifax won't be pleased they couldn't win by more given we had two 20 year olds in the centres, and 4 of our pack were 20 or under.

Oh and Oxford may be a nice city but the RL team no longer play in Oxford city so the Fax fan spouting rubbish needs to do his research.

I'm confident we will beat them later in the year if we have Murray, Peltier and one of Chisholm/Lilley in the side.

The sad thing for Fax is we will take more fans to Oxford or Cov next year than they did last night

Reason for fax not taking a massive following to the slum. Tip of a ground with no cover to stand under in rain.

Lots of fans don't like going there and putting money into the coffers of a club who keep living beyond their meens and will probably go bust again at end of season.

Such good sortsmanship from your wonderful fans ( booing a player who has broken his cheekbone) real class

Enjoy life at the bottom. It's always nice to beat you.

Funny how every time we beat you and that's been quite a few times over last couple of seasons you have an excuse for the lose. Never that fax where the better team like Last night.

See you at the shay (a proper ground) later in the season when we beat you again. Wonder what excuses you will come up with next time must be running out of them

At least this one can write (but can't spell). I don't think it can read though as multiple posters (myself included) have stated that Halifax deserved the win. That doesn't mean we can't comment on the quality of either side or the players we didn't have available.

Using the ground as an excuse not to attend is poor - if you really had enough interest in your team then you turn up and watch.

You are only not in a slum because of the council and FC Halifax. the football club paid their share of the East stand development and after all your scummy lot promised paid nothing then didnt pay rent. I work with a guy who is an FC Halifax fan and he has paperwork requested showing what each put into it. Hope they end up locking yous out permanently

I did attend and allways will follow the mighty blue m whites but it's a fact many fax fans hate that dump of a ground and won't go there,my dad included.

Anyway I'm a very happy fax fan this morning no matter what you think of our performance and your excuses -again for losing.

Another frustrating and disappointing game, but comparing what both teams did, Fax were comfortably better.

The main reasons for this are because they had 3/4 of the field position, number of reasons for that but the end result is you spend most of the game trying to get away from your own line, this leads to fatigue, which degrades performance, support play and decision making.

It's no shock of course as everyone including owners knows full well we simply don't have enough grunt available and if one thing kills us this season then it will be that.

Fatigue probably also plays a part in a secondary reason, that is persisting in pis.sing away possession through inexcusable mistakes and bad discipline. Not as bad as some games but still just not good enough, some of the basic errors really make you cringe, and sadly you pretty much know when we will cough it up, if not exactly how. Leon was especially guilty of a couple of great attacking positions being pis.sed away.

Another secondary reason is our embarrassing inability to deal with high kicks and kicks into space. Mercifully Fax hadn't done their homework on this and the bombs were limited but its like nobody wants any ball in the air, so all leave it to someone else.

I will add that despite the above, we could easily have won, if we hadn't managed to literally three times lose the ball in the act of scoring - two pretty much under the posts. That's different, you've done the hard work, and on another night you ground the ball and in. Would've been very hard on a workmanlike Fax team but if a couple of those had been 6 pointers then likely we would've pinched the win.

Again, no excuses - not sure where you are getting this from? The better team won on the day, but you should have done better against a very young and inexperienced side.

I hate Belle Vue but still go there when I have to. The championship would be better off if people like your dad just sucked it up and went to games.

Good point about the high balls.

At the moment kick offs and bombs make me extremely nervous. No excuses for that when we have a team of FT professionals.
