A really strong defensive coach is a must.

And while I'm all for Brook being given his chance, I'd still want to see someone else as either back up or mentor. I don't think a scrum-half who has yet to play a first team game would lead us back to Super League.

No, you need to sign someone like Wally Lewis, who was the most expensive player in the world in '83-'84 when Wakey signed him. And got relegated.

Hopefully we’ll see some new names in the next few weeks. The spine of the team was never the strongest lately but with Gale and Kearney going, Diskin probably retiring and us unsure whether O’Brien is staying we need to address the fullback, halfback and hooker situation. We need at least 3 halfbacks and 3 hookers in the squad. Ideally they’ll have a bit of experience to blend with our youth. Brook looks a good prospect but he needs an experienced partner or at least a few experienced reliable heads in the team.

There's a rumour from Huddersfield saying that Stu Fielden is coming back to the Bulls. I'd go for obviously not playing but second in command [and defensive coach]? that said, I've no idea what, if any, coaching qualifications he has, other than being a top notch prop of course.

Fielden is on the coaching staff at Huddersfield isn't he?
As far as experience goes I'd be looking at someone in the Lee Gilmour mould. Versatile as a player and has a big future in coaching according to some people in the game. 1 year player coach contract with 2 years coaching at the end of it.

Gleeson is out of contract I believe, also his time in Super League is spent. Would more than do a job in the Championship though.

As someone mentioned yesterday, I'd much rather see Curtis Naughton back at the club than Mullaney. His mother and he seem to be all over twitter trying to fix him up with a new club.

Funny as when he left us he said it was because he wasn't being selected ahead of Kearney. Think he's been brought down a peg or two.

He has a superb amount of talent, this experience will hopefully have made him more mature.

It was me. He'd be a revelation in the championship. We only saw glimpses of him in Bulls colours but his playing style reminded me of Escare at Catalans. Someone else who wasn't getting a look in before the 1st choice fullback became injured.
