who do you consider to be a good player amongst the backs? Kearney? who makes one third of the number of tackles Herbert does in a game, and has a three times worse missed tackle percentage, one third the number of tries per game, less than half the number of assists than Herbert? Yes he makes fewer errors a game than Herbert, but it is still high compared to a lot of the other backs, third worst in fact.
And yes, before you say it, I agree that Kearneys stats would be better in a team that was had few injury problems and was gelling, but so would Herberts, even more so if he had a regular stand off partnership. In fact a specialist SO would also help Kearney, so lets hope the signings are both a forward and a SO.
