Wow although this has been talked about I'm surprised this came out in the sun newspaper.

TBH i can't see him coming back, surely he must be worried whether any other club will touch him with his injury(s)

Only thing is, I wonder if this was the plan for getting Bird in? Tear up Tupou's contract and the wage and spot go to Bird? But that's part's gone south

Didn't he spend his time with us injured, how long was he out before we got rid

Signed. Went through pre-season. Played in a friendly (I think?). First proper match (may even have been a friendly still?) did his cruciate IIRC. Club "released" him, and TV, because neither would be fit to play within 6 months and under the terms of the contract the club could do that. Whether we'd have done so had the club not been desperate to free up cap-space for Harris (allegedly) is a separate issue.


That's my approximate recollection, but I suspect others will be able to add some accuracy.

where have we heard this before, new zealand rfl being less than forthcoming about the extent of an injury suffered to our player whilst on international duty for them
