It wasn't good but it was far from any sort of nadir IMO.

66-4 at home to Saints?
50-22 at VP, also against Saints?
Losing at Widnes in 2005?
Tyncastle vs the Broncos?

it would be easier to write off if it it's was a one off during a good run of results. But it hasn't its come on the back of two extremely disapointing home performances and results.

As bad as 66-4 in 05, but without any players to make you optimistic about the team turning it around

That was the pits it was the only time I ever booed the team, and I've been heartily ashamed of it ever since.

1998 was wrecked by a combination of crazy levels of injuries, and "after the Lord Mayor's Show". Unfortunately, we look to be having a re-run of the first of those for 2009 Sadly we can't pin any blame on the second :(

As bad as I can remember. They looked bereft of ideas. Jeffries dies with the ball too much. Newton is playing shocking at present.

Was it me or was Platt one of the better players?

I thought Platt was the best (or least-bad) back. But give a dog a bad name and all that...

I'd like to know what the effect of injuries has been on Tez's performance before judging - I remember 1998 when most of the fans were on players' backs yet - as it transpired - many were playing with hefty injuries.

And does anyone who was coming up with moralistic reasons why we should not have gone for Bird still hold that view? At least give the coach and the club credit for recognising where we were weak and trying to do something about it?
