Walkers decisions to leave us had got to be one of the worst advised decisions for his career. The whole reason he came down to us was because he'd been crippled by injuries throughout his career. 5 minutes into his debut he was out for 12 weeks. He had just started to get some consistency for us when KR wanted a back up FB and he went back to SL and played a handful of games instead of paying 80 minutes every week for us. Then he signs for FC and has played sporadically. If he had just seen out his season with us I think he would have got his confidence back in his body and be in a much stronger place to demand a starting place in an SL side. I know a FT SL contract should always trump a champ contract. But sometimes look at where you are in your career and maybe playing a couple of months in a lower level will greatly improve your career prospects rather than sitting on a bench in SL. Okoro was another. Never played SL. Hadn't even played much championship. Had managee to fight his way into our top props after a good PRE-SEASON, but hardlt actually achieved anything or sustained that in a proper season and ends up going to Warrington where he's then been passed from club to club.
But I'd take Walker as he's an outstanding talent, but I'd insist on there been no SL clause.
