It's worth noting that the Hull players were making similar statements about Peter Sharp during our appalling run of form last season.

Not sure how significant this is. The players will either come out in support whether they mean it or not, or remain silent.

Only in rare occasions will a player publicly criticise the coach. I remember Jamie Thackray when at Leeds being quoted in the YEP saying something to the effect that he knew better than the coach who was trying to change his ball-carrying technique... Needless to say he didn't last long at Leeds.
