Remember the official Bulls board 10 years ago was dominated by teenage girls, half the threads would be like this:

BullsGirl4Eva: hey luk at these pics of McAvoy wiv his shirt off
robbieslilangel: OMG OMG! *faints*
DeacsShowUsYaCheeks: oo he is soooo fine lol

What happened to these girls? I assume they were about 13-16 then so they must be in their mid 20s now, probably have kids of their own, are they still into rugby league? I was wondering whether they are still supporters and Odsal regulars just aren't as prominent on the forums any more.

I married one!!

She doesn't participate much with the Bulls as she's too busy with dealing with kids, washing, cleaning etc.

You discontinued those wind-up aliases and stuck to mainly posting as sally cinnamon. A combination of boredom and shortage of time perchance

I've never actually had a wind up alias on this board. I do all my wind ups in the sally cinnamon name so people know to take me with a pinch of salt

But seriously are they still going to the games or not. I looked at the attendance figures on rugbyleagueproject site and it seems like last year's crowds at Odsal were higher than they were ten years ago when you were champions, admittedly that was at Valley Parade not Odsal, but its no bad going seeing how far the Bulls have fallen on the field and given that nobody has any money these days due to the economic climate. So have those new young fans attracted in the glory days, stayed on? Or have the Bulls found a new generation of fans that don't remember the good days (poor souls).

To be serious it's hard to tell, but common sense suggests that some will still be watching the club and some, I'd guess the majority, probably won't. Teenagers are fickle anyway, what's 'sexy' one week will be out the next, it was ever thus. As they morphed into women (and the boys into men) I'm sure many priorities were changed; jobs relationships, families and the recession along with the falling fortunes of the club won't have helped.

To be honest, no club can expect to keep all the young people who come along and, in the Bullmania days, the Bulls very actively pursued the youth market and seemed to attract more schoolkids than most, so I guess, long term, they had more to lose. What's of more concern today is that the current schoolkids aren't coming in anything like the same numbers. It was a unique time though, and whilst there may be questions as to whether the same marketing is in place, I guess it's not hard to figure out why.

Thats good to hear Bulls Boy.

I agree with Bulliac but hopefully at least if some of those have drifted away from the game, they are potential supporters to return in the future if the Bulls start doing well again, ie at least they know what rugby league is and can get back into it quickly.

I have noticed the absence of the youth and the families (there are still families there but not the extent that there were in the early 2000s), Odsal these days feels more like the Odsal of Bradford Northern era, it has a feel more of the old guard who have been there, seen it all etc. As a Warrington fan I'm glad it's now our time in the sun but it is sad to see the Bulls' decline, as not only were they a great force on the field, but the example off the field of how to take our sport out to new markets. And also Bradford as a city has been in decline for a while and it was good to see a powerful RL team as a symbol of strength for Bradford.

My daughter would have been one of them (well, not on the forum, but a teenage girl with a Bulls season ticket and a replica shirt)

She never goes now, and barely takes any interest. It's simply the way that life moves on and changes. She got other friends, went to University, got a boyfriend, came back from University, got a job etc.

Life changes

My ex-next door neighbour in Heaton was one. She & her friends would practice their songs & moves in the back garden. I would take great delight in shouting 'Tigers' at the most inopportune moment, then go back in the house. I often wonder if she still attends games, apart from her mental aberrations she was a lovely lass.
