Some coaches play a backrow forward at 6 when injuries occur, just to smash it up the middle and make ground and stifle the other teams HB's. I'm not sure if Mick Potter would do that or I think we should but I think it's a good option for teams to use. The full back can move into the middle and take the ball like a 6, the only problem would be he wouldnt be there to chime in as a link on the second phase. I'd rather play it simple and safe than play somebody that is likley to come up with a howler.
Fair comment, and you're probably right.
I'd suspect that Sykes will play for his goal kicking though, and if that's the decision, then he has to take some spot on the field, it's a matter of which. Defensively, in the middle of the field he's largely going to be tackling the man coming at him and not making the type of decisions he would in isolation at the back or out wide, though Kearney isn't the best defender either, so it wouldn't be like losing a Keith Mumby figure at the back. Full back or half, I dunno, maybe MP will go with the split again. Glad it's not my decision to be honest. It would be madness mess up the threequarters though, I definitely wouldn't do that.
Assuming langers isn't going to be fit, I'd like to see Addy at loose. We lose Langley's tackling and physical presence but get a very skilful runner and ball player instead; it's a win something lose something situation for me but hopefully we're no worse off, and we have Elima coming back which should be a boost, though it's unfair to expect too much in his first match back.
