Agreed.

Burgess is a difficult one. Lots of expectation on him due to name, and also his decent performances last season.

Think we need him in there purely for size, and whilst I'd like to see him get longer time if Potter thinks we can manage with one prop on for less time, then I trust in him. It won't harm Burgess playing SL every week though, even if his game time is limited.

The past few weeks has made my confidence in Potter double. Hope it continues.

The spell where he came off the bench against Wire he played well and again I thought he was improved against HKR. he's only 19 and doing well IMO.

On the subject of props I criticised Bryn hargreaves after the Wigan game as basically not good enough but I have to say he's looked a totally different player since. Fast, works hard in defence and a nice pass. thought he was excellent against HKR along with Nas.

Totally agree. Thought he was a really solid and reliable prop at Saints, but up until recently he hadn't shown it for us.

Past few weeks he's been excellent and hope it continues.

Burgess not doing much wrong, sure he drops off a few tackles and drops the ball sometimes, but who doesnt. He's only 19, so its to be expected.

Odd that he isn't getting more game time as this could have really allowed him to step up and make a name for himself

But you're right. I'd expect a 19 yo prop to drop a few balls, it's less acceptable for Scruton (although I accept he's had issues off the pitch and injuries). If I had to pick over Burgess and Scrutes on current form it would be Burgess. He certainly offers alot more than Joseph too.

Completely agree, we needed for him to have more game time last season. I forgot he was 19 too -thats a good 7 years of maturing for a prop forward

I think Burgess will get more game time as he gets more experienced and improves his all round game. He's young and has got a lot of rough edges. We need to be patient.

At his age Stuart Fielden didn't look much different and Jamie Peacock hadn't even got in the first team. More recently It's taken Koppy 4 seasons to come through.

Also, I am sure some people don't actually realise just what a hard school it is for a young lad to come on and get acclimatised to repeatedly colliding with hardened, seasoned SL forwards. The interests of a young player are the same as ours, in this case, and I trust Potter to err on the side of giving Burgess enough game time to keep him demanding more, and not so much that he gets smashed into fook and burned out.
