Bateman will be the future Loose Forward for the Bulls I rekon.

He won't get a game at Loose because we're stocked with skilful, ball playing, creative loose forwards like Bryn Hargreaves and Craig Kopczak

Seriously though, I hope we'll see quite a bit more of Bateman this season. hopefully Potter will see sense and put him at 13, rather than shifting him around the park.

According to the match report, Liam McAvoy played 8, and we had two more young Bulls on the bench. I make that four out of the 17 - all the Bulls in the squad were selected. Stains had 4, Whinos and Wire 3 each, Pies, Cods and Smellies 1 each.

Seems Bateman scored one and had another disallowed.

Maybe a message in there, somewhere?

Good thing about Bateman though is he is versitile. His best position is Loose/Second Row. But can play Centre, Stand Off and the two I already said :)

whatever position he ends up making his own, and I do hope it is creative LF, playing those other positions won't do his development any harm, look at Leon.

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

He was exceptional, played with a maturity beyond his years. You have a real star on your hands there.

Thankfully it probably makes little difference, but the chances won't be helped if he reads some of the usual suspects on here saying how shiit he is, too small, what has he ever done, will never make it etc.
