Barba asked if he would like to go back to the NRL.

"I’m only 28 and if I get the chance after playing over here to be able to play back in the NRL, hopefully someone will take me.”
This is common sense.
Just like Ryan Hall who said the following " I won't lie, I'd love to come over here. It's a competition that's very attractive and the English players that we've seen come over the last few years and made quite a success of it as well like the Burgess boys so it's really attractive for English players to come out and I'm certainly interested."
Doesnt mean that when push comes to shove that they decide to go there. Alex Walmsley being the latest who was supposedly a done and dusted NRL signing according to many supposedly in the know.
Professional sports men will way up their options. All likelyhood is that Ben Barba will return to the NRL at some point. However he and his family may decide that the media scrutiny that goes with the NRL is not worth it and that at St.Helens he can make a good wedge without the paparazzi following his every move.
