You just can't do that against NRL opposition. It's the same for Wigan Vs Brisbane although our completion rate was much better there was still way too many basic errors. Mosoe was a let down. I thought Greenwood and Walmsely aquitted themselves best.

The stats speak volumes, twice as many errors, less possession, less meters made, far more tackles, 50% completion rate.

The thing that surprised me is Saints got more penalties awarded, felt like the other way round on the night, maybe there is just no stat for 50/50 decisions, which also went against Saints along with the bounce of the ball.

Everything points to a significant winning margin in Souths favour.

Statistically speaking, past performance has no impact on future fortunes - but when you go into a match against arguably one of the greatest Australian club sides in history with a defence which hasn't conceded more than a try a game since the end of last year you really should EXPECT a pounding.

But should you expect a world record pounding? Think prior to the game most people thought a Sts win was unlikely but didn't see a wipe out on the cards.
