London Stats : Sat May 03, 2014 8:28 am
http://superleague.co.uk/report/9979

Probably not much you can really take from this, but...

Our forwards (except Robes) made A LOT less metres than the backs

Mose was the only forward to break 100 mtrs

worryingly we missed 24 tackles, with Sia , Lance and Wilko (did make 38 tackles though) missing 4 each

Roby had a great game

Re: London Stats : Sat May 03, 2014 9:09 am
I like looking at stats but they can be decieving at times.

Sia missed 4 tackles but I seen him miss two on kick chases which is mainly due to other players being lazy and not chasing leaving sia having to run across trying to take the fullback.

I always think, if you didn't go the game, the stats can be misleading.

i agree, Sia sometimes tries too hard, going for tackles were he really doesnt have a chance of getting there in time

Sia's been rubbish for weeks. No heart, no desire and like i keep saying with ball in hand he is virtually non existent.

Even the "untouchable" Roby been poor. Those two are our most consistent players over the years and both been below their usual high standards

This is true. But to suggest either have no heart because they're in poor form is borderline silly.

I do wonder if soliolas decision is playing on his mind though?

I never mentioned heart with these two. They got more heart than the rest of the team put together but they are not playing to their ability. It's IMO only fair if they are mentioned as well but they certainly not lacking heart and effort.

I don't think it's playing on Sia mind, I think he's just having to do to much. He's being used as a battle ram again and that's not his game. Don't get me wrong, he will plough into the opposition all day and stand his ground but he needs to be used wider. He's a devastating runner if he gets good ball.

His defence has always been like this, he gets thru a ton of hard aggressive tackles but misses a few in the process.

Apologies, the no heart thing was aimed at the poster above!

The month is nearly up for when we'd know more isn't it? So an announcement must be due soon on the matter! I'd be surprised if it wasn't affecting him, but as you say, he's the type of player who will just keep going regardless. That said it seemed very strange that he played prop for a stint on Thursday, are we trying to play him further in field?

It's because the props are struggling badly. I know you don't agree but these props ain't as good as people making out and the balance is all wrong.

Both Mose and walmsley would give us more If they didn't have to play the longer mins. The young kids ain't up to yet and only Amor can compete with other packs for long periods.

Like I said before the season. To many impact props and not enough grafters and now we've reverted to getting sia snotted down the middle.

I'm still happy with the prop rotation of Amor walmsley masoe and laffranchi. The problem is it's composition is very susceptible. Having 2 "impact" props in walmsley and masoe puts a lot of pressure on the other 2 to do the hard graft, and when 1 (or, as of right now, both) are injured, they can't do the long minutes and we look far less solid in the middle.

Richards has stood up well for how young he is, but was never going to be able to fill the shoes of Amor. I actually think ghostmont would of been a major advantage over the last few weeks with the injuries we've had in the front row, alas it wasn't to be, and LMS is ... Well, that's a whole other thread ...

A fit Amor, laffranchi and Ghostmont and injured walmsley and masoe would have threads saying we lack punch in the middle. It's the way of sport!
