What is the gen on O Brien? Are we looking to make his contract permanent, or is he gone at the end of the loan spell? Some talk that we are in the market for a world class stand off, when we don't find one, is he the back up plan? Will Warrington let him go? Has he shown enough to earn a permanent contract?

I think signing GOB long term will be one of the last options for us, but if we can't sign another half back for next season, we may well make a move for him.

He's no world beater - I think some may think he's perhaps a bit better than he is because of our lack of players in that position.

To be honest, if Yates and Charnock are decent, then by next year I'd expect them to be able to do the same job.

I think he's made a big difference just for the fact he's a proper halfback but IMO he's not good enough. I'd take him on 12 month load until we find someone else.

GOB is growing on me. He does the basics but I suppose he's still only young. Has a good kicking game, can pass, not afraid to go at the line (to his detriment lately! Haha) and is great defensively for a HB.

I'm not sure we are going to find anyone better really? I mean Chase etc is never going to happen, is it?

According to todays League Weekly Chase to Salford is a done deal.

Our "in the know" posters have said that Chase had agreed terms, but the deal is yet to be signed- perhaps waiting for a compensation package for Salford to be finalised...

We will continue to hope until Friday's announcment, when we're told that Josh Perry has resigned.
