I'm guessing that it's more to do with there being less of a problem making sure that grounds are available come playoff time.
For instance it must be easier to make sure the DW and the KC are available on a Thursday should eith Wigan athletic and or Hull City are at home that weekend?
Just a thought.
Also, I think it might be a good thing. There's less sport for us to compete with on a Thursday . I had a quick look at Sky's Premiership games last week and noticed they seem to have more Saturday tea time games now.
