Saints Take a Wolves Mauling With the crowd still trying to catch their collective breath after a sensational and controversial Hull derby, the Saints and the Wolves took to the field for the last game of what had been a stunning sunny Saturday in Manchester.
Saints were riding high after a great victory over the Rhinos last Monday while Warrington, still smarting from a loss to Hull FC, were buoyed by the return to action of Adrian Morley after a long injury lay-off. The stage was set for a classic.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.
I actually tipped us to win at Leeds last Monday on the quite.
I'll be honest, I expected a 60 point drubbing last night. I don't think I've ever predicted a team to put 60 on us. Just shows what I think of this current group of players.
Believe me I take no pleasure in saying that Saints at the minute seem to be playing like a rudderless ship. I know Brown must be given time to setting in, and the team adjusting to his partner of play, and the rotten run of injuries you have had, and all that, but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a Saints side struggle just to make metres. I know you were playing a top side in Wire and no one would have had a cake-walk against them, but I kept thinking of where the likes of the Cunningham’s and Sculthorpe’s are to hold it all together now. It all seems to come down to Wellens, and he wasn’t there! I’m not one of those sheep who just bleat out how I hate Saints and hope this and that befalls them, I want us to beat a top Saints side, a side in its pomp just as I want Wigan always to be. Under Brown or not, they will sooner or later get it right, great sides always do, I just hope it’s sooner than later, then normal service and rivalry can be resumed!

The problems Brown is having is a knock on effect off poor recruitment by previous coaches.
I knew this job was a massive job to take on, I said it at the time. I don't think Brown knew just how hard it was going to be. We've got no halfbacks, the pack is old and finished and we can't spend cash likes the like of Wigan, Warrington and hull fc.
It basically needs a complete clear out of the likes of Meli, Ade, Perry, Wheeler, Hohaia, Laffranchi, clough, and possibly TP and wello.
Its a tough act to get shut of that amount of players and bring new players on when we've no cash to spend. When I've been banging on about retention and recruitment since 2009 a d this is why. The likes of wello, Ade, Meli, clough should have been replaced years ago and now brown has to get shut of the lot and replace them but that not possible and that's why Ade is getting a new deal.
Its so important we get a halfback and two props for next year but if we are being totally honest, we need a winger, centre, stand off, scrumhalf, two props and loose forward.
Me: I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
knockersbumpMKII: Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm
Another numpty 80 points to nil is a mauling. Given how many points we actually scored to what we conceded that was a touch embarrassing no more no less. Always your year this year it maybe.
After rubbing our faces in your numerous victories against us where you've won by the slightest margin. It's funny to see how you all can't handle it.
It must be hard to accept that you've fizzled out to become a mid table team. Its ok I get that. Wire fans all over remember what those days are like. You'll be ok in the end, Chin up.

I think, given that wire used to have averages around 5,000, that wire fans all over won't remember diddly before 6 or 7 years ago.
