The stats are actually really good. Laffranchi, Sia, Jones and Walmsley as well as our back three all show up well.

There is no real poor performer, a brave performance by the lads. We just lacked a bit of quality that stats do not show.

Catalans just seemed to make more metres per carry and that was the big difference.

Howarth - missed 6 tackles and 9 whole metres from 4 carries! Not quite robes' understudy!

It's poor when one player gives away four penalties, which resulted in four points for the opposition. LMS should be giving himself a serious talking to this week because he needs to do the work but drop the attitude.

Soliola's metres were very impressive.

Laffranchi has taken some stick on here for his performance on Friday, but those stats are actually quite impressive.

By contrast, if you consider that LMS gave away 4 penalties then his 66 metre gain turns into something like a net loss of 20 metres. Not his finest hour.

Well the carries from Laffranchi blows some peoples interpretation of the game into a new light. He made one less meter than Walmsley per carry on average. Off more carries. And he did double the number of tackles than Walmsley.

So although I've not seen the game, you have to question the lazy arguement.

Better average gain from Jones than usual.

I did find it strange that we came so close, yet people came away as though it was one of the worst performances.

If anything it's the missed tackles that looks bad along with the errors.

Worth pointing out, watching the game back, Laffranchi made at least 50 of those metres from kick off and drop kick returns.

I think what many people commented on was the lethargy in the first half. The second half was better from us.

What stood out, though, was LMS and the penalties he gave away, not to mention that final try of theirs which was just jammy.

From the stats alone you would have to say the people who did not have their best games.

Percival, Lance ( nothing looks creative on those stats)

Howarth 4 carries, seriously?? 6 missed tackles.

LMS, Wellens,

Tiley (but can't be too harsh on a newbie)


Toss up between LMS and Howarth for worst performance.
