i was very dissappointed with such a low turn out yesterday less then 2200 (2158 i think)

i know it was cold and the weather wasnt great but there should have been alot more there, this must be the lowest attandance we have every had for the first team at langtree,

I wasnt there but i imagine the weather didnt really help travelling fans.
I can envisage some on here blaming the price also.

Although we did get close to 4k the other week didn't we??

In the end it's a friendly don't think we normally play 2 SL teams in friendlies, but in the end it's not the league it's a trial match.

Much bigger attendances at Leeds & Hull, I wonder if Testimonial matches have the same attraction these days, did the originate when players were on small match payment? but then Leeds was okay for Danny Maguire's Testimonial.

Great to read Jon Wilkins thoughts on the game today, I agree with him 100% how we so easily fall into calling it the Greatest game or sport, as he says currently to us it maybe! but we have a long way to go until we will really earn that title here in the UK.

I would hope that Jon Wilkin is doing a top management course as I feel he is ideal to take over the running of our game in a few years time when his career comes to an end, it is time for a real change at the top of those running RFL!

Leeds did play bradford, if we played wigan im sure we would have had a higher gate

I agree, although I suppose the weather didn't help persuade some people to go. The amount of space around me in W3 yesterday was ridiculous, and the seats looked to be practically empty.

It is a shame, but as I said, I suppose the weather played a big part in the attendance yesterday.

The weather won't have helped but Wilkin shot himself in the foot by charging more for his friendly (against a less competitive side) than Saints charged for theirs a week earlier. He's had a lot of expensive events during his testimonial, which seems to have been going on forever. He strikes me as being a bit greedy and so I don't have much sympathy.

I didn't go because I wasn't willing to pay £6 more for less of a match.

The weather was much more severe in Yorkshire! okay Wakefield are not the top draw I agree, but someone choose this as the friendly and match for Wilkins Testimonial, as I said earlier I'm unsure they are really needed these days especially when money is tight for many spectators.
