I can't understand why anyone would put themselves through a Super League friendly in January, let alone pay for it?

Hard to disagree... It's difficult enough getting worked up about actual league games these days never mind a friendly...

Trial matches are great. There are no expectations, everyone is fresh, the coach isn't under pressure, we get to see a mix and match of players and in this instance we're watching two superleague sides. Once the season starts it all gets tense.

I won't be going to the Wakey friendly though. Charging £20 for a friendly is just stupid by Saints. Predictable, but stupid.

Not sure Saints set the price, it's Wilkin's official testimonial match so he may have had a say in the pricing.

You get to see all the good promising young players before they spend the rest of the season at Rochdale before going to Salford next year.

I am going to the Huddersfield match but I am not sure about the Wakefield game. Play more to spend halve my weekend freezing my bo11ocks off outside.
