Shenton needs to improve quite a lot IMO to warrant an extension to his contract. He misses more than his share of tackles and rarely makes a break and what about the dropped pass last night?; he has not been the best signing for Saints by any means.

He has been solid,usually defensively sound,last year and so far mostly this year he hasnt had much quality attacking ball and while he may not of been the best signing he hasnt been the worst by a long way.Unless we release Sia ( or another non fed/quota player ) we will have to sign a same fed player and given that there are not a lot of those around of the quality we need i dont see Shenton not getting an extension.Yes he dropped a pass last night,TP dropped one at Odsal,it happens.

He is on a lot of coin apparently.

Didn't get any service last year.

Credit to him for coming back from such a serious injury but he does not look right.

I was surprised that he has not played as a left centre.

However he needs to get over this injury, but ultimately if saints are paying Test Player
wages then he needs to offer some strike rather than just being a stopper.

Have to say that Sarginson from Landen looked really good against Wakey.

What relavance does that have ? theres 1 mom and 17 players a lot of players have never won mom doesnt make them bad players.

I couldnt tell you,but i can say they way Saints were last year and early this year you could of had Greg Inglis there and he wouldnt of done a whole lot better,the ball just wasnt getting to him with any space to work with.There are a couple of problems there,they players just dont seem to be able to pass that way accuratly and fast enough and the other problem is a lot of the time the ball doesnt go past Sia,who while he adds a dynamic something to the team in his defence and enthusiasm doesnt really help when it comes to attacking down the edge.

Shenton needs room to work,he needs good ball and isnt getting it,down near their line he can draw a man well and put his winger in though.

Massively harsh, that pass was near his knees when he was under pressure

I posted it from the game at halftime on the match thread. He doesn't look right, he's carrying that arm and looks all out of sync.

His passing and defence is poor at the moment and I honestly think is due to the injury.

The only concern for me, if it's mental then he will overcome it with games but if it's a physical problem then I fear for him.

Grand Final last year, IMO if he hadn't got injured we would have gone on to win that game. Shenton is one of those players you only miss when he isn't there!
