If so he's a rich man today. I don't want to blame him for the loss because he stuck it to both sides pretty evenly last night (Catalans in the first half, us in the second). But for a game that was in no way dirty I was very surprised by the number of penalties. It killed the game's continuity and disrupted the flow enormously.

Childs was the sole reason you were able to make it up the field. The Dragons played all the rugby league.

Child got a few wrong last night. No way was there interference from Roby at the ptb. If you still have the recording look at Wheelers interception. Wilkin, Wheeler and Flannery are way offside at the ptb.

He may have been a bit free with the whistle, but it is up to the players to learn. The sooner they learn, the less penalties there'll be. Simples!!

Child has always been a fussy ref. Reminds me of Ashley Clown before he went to the NRL. Hammers one team for one half then switches for the second. If he's with your team you better be out of sight by half time because he will help the opposition in the 2nd half!

As I was walking out last night I heard a fella slating Childs, "Childs is this" . "Childs is that", then he paused and said "mind you he can't be blamed for crap defence." made me chuckle.

According to the Sky graphics it was 8 all on penalties. That's a pretty low/standard penalty count isn't it?

As John Monie said, 2 things you can't do anything about, the weather and the ref.

Technically, Childs appeared to have a fairly solid game, unlike Sts defence which was like runny blancmange. James Grahams influence was hugely missed.

That's correct and it was the same in the Salford game.

You do talk bollox sometimes. We played some great rugby league in the second half against Salford. We played some great running rugby against Hull KR too.

We are the pits at defending for 80 minutes. I could add 'at present' to that, but as yet I'm not sure I should.
