Following the 2011 GF my suspicion would be that you were the only one holding that view. While he could pull off some great moves and he worked hard, he was also a liability, and he cost us in the GF at a time when we were losing players to injury at an alarming (but fairly normal for 2011) rate. In addition, we have no idea what he was like in terms of his attitude or whatever so I'm rather inclined to give the club the benefit of the doubt on Moore.

Nah. Not at all. His mistakes were costing us more than any positives in his performance.

I know they had reasons. But they've let players off for worse in the past. He is one of three or four players for us that genuinely gave everything they had. Jammer, Wello and Robes being the others. Where will the aggression and the physicality comes from next season? We're going to get bullied.

Moore made mistakes off the field and he gave a few penalties away. Plenty of players recover from that early in their career and sort it out. Look at Ben Westwood as an example, arguably Super League's finest forward.

the problem being, everything he had wasn't good enough for saints even before his misdeeds

I fully agree with you saddened - we will regret the decision to release him. We will miss his agression and his ability to fill in so many roles e.g. SH, SO, LF, No 9, 2nd row even prop.
Too much made of his brain farts. Fact = he did not cost us the GF. And he did not cause Shenton's dislocated elbow like some other posters would like us to believe.

It just shows that if you are in favour, you are forgiven for indiscretions but if you are not in favour then you can go to hell (or Widnes). I'm not sure which is worse.
