REDVEE CENSORSHIP IN THE POCKET OF SPONSORS : Mon Oct 17, 2011 2:40 pm  

I know this may appear trivial. Never the less, with the announcement of the Hattons West Stand I entered into a bit of banter regarding the ethics of the nature of business of sponsors for the club. I did make the point that there would probably be a dearth of ethically founded enterprises willing to sponsor Rugby League and so beggars can't be choosers.

The result is that I have had three posts removed today by the Redvee admin, doubtless to remove any posssible evaluations of thier website sponsors.

As a champion (ish) of free speech and keen to root out dodgy vested interests, I will not be visiting The Third Redvee Reich again. I don't expect that this will be of great concern to their Central Scrutinizers.

Redvee is a bit of a dippy site but surely you can't blame them for pulling posts that might diss their sponsors? How ever much like 'banter' that dissing might be? I'd imagine the same would happen on this site.

Don't bite the hand that feeds, and all that.

And besides, Hattons have been great sponsors of Saints for a decade. The ethics of the company are fine; the problem lies with the people who use them to get compensation for breaking a fingernail.

Feel free to outbid Hattons.
Personally Im grateful for their sponsorship of Saints and Rugby league in general.
Do quite a bit at grass roots level as well dont they?

Hattons are a big sponsor for Saints and do alot to support junior clubs too. IMO, we shouldnt be criticising companies who support Saints and the game in general when youve got an organisation the size of Pilkingtons who do wrag all.

I guess that would be a matter of opinion. Personally I'm of the view that if there paying I dont care however some people do. Ethics are a funny thing mind.

While i understand the point of the op i think he is ignoring the fact that you agree to certain things when you sign up to mesage boards and " free speech " only exists to a certain degree otherwise we wouldnt have forum mods and rules for posting.
