We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Ther Hull KR threat thread : Wed Jul 20, 2011 10:52 am
Ok it's nice to spend time winding up the wire fans, but surely we also have a game this weekend or has no one noticed due to the overwhelming glare of Wigan and Warrington. (You can get quite a spark from a load of hot air)

Or maybe we are just being dare I say it a little arrogant in ignoring the threat of Hull KR and concentrating our focus on Wigan and Wire.

Hull KR fans have certainly not missed the game coming up.

Will be a tough game, no question. Hull KR's season is riding on it and they will approach the game accordingly.

We need to be bang on guard or we'll come a cropper.

Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. (Winston Churchill)

Re: Ther Hull KR threat thread : Wed Jul 20, 2011 11:28 am
I've gone for a Saints win based purely upon our performance for the last 20 minutes against the Dragons, when composure fell upon us like a nice, soft blanket thanks to the return of Leon Pryce. In the hope that we will build upon that rather splendid end to a tough but more positive performance, I think we have enough to beat HKR. But we need to be concentrating for the full 80 minutes, ruthless in defence and creative in attack. No prisoners taken.

Has someone hacked your account? The 'fearthevee' I knew would have slated HKR no end!!

Does StirlingshireSaint still lurk around here? That guy still hasn't bared his ar5e in Hull yet..

It all depends on the start, I think if Saints click into gear early on, it'll be too much of an ask for us, whereas a first try going to Rovers would hopefully ensure a close game.

50-0 again?! Incidentally in that semi of 06', I was on holiday and I am on holiday this time around. Wouldn't have minded seeing this one.

I'm not sure I have EVER slated HKR (other than overseas players).

Our cup record is pretty amazing with 10 semi finals in a row and 6 final appearances (5 wins) since 2001. I'm fairly confident in our ability to get a win on Sunday but they are certainly a side to be wary of, they have a decent record against us and its sudden death 80mins.

For a team wanting to be top 6, their form has been patchy most of the season with losses to Wakefield & Salford contrasting with beating Leeds and pushing Wire all the way (should have won too). More recently things have improved, after back to back heavy defeats against Leeds & Warrington they have had 4 good wins allbeit against the current bottom four they did so with an aggregate score of 163-32 which is pretty good for anyone.

Our form is coming together a little bit but we still have issues in defence and ball retention, however if we keep hold of the ball and we shut down Dobson/Green I think we will be fine, but I'm certainly taking nothing for granted

I've got to say, I'm confident. I think the last couple of home wins have been over tough opposition and we've manged to take some chances well. I think we'll grind though the first half and hopefully put the game away 2nd.
I've always thought of McGuire as a good player, and I wouldn't normally wish injury on any player, but there was a certain hint of poetic justice to that.
Another classic:
You forgot to take off the "Saints Reduction Factor" when calculating the ban.

Standard suspension / Saints Reduction Factor = Actual ban for Saints player.

Therefore (2 / 3) = 0.666

0.666 < 1 therefore actual ban equals "less than 1 match".

Therefore ZERO.
Nullify Dobson and you pretty much rub them out.
Whelam scores a hell of a lot from Dobsons kicks. Almost all Galeas trys come from that short ball from Dobson.
Newton also runs off him. Thing Is everyone knows that but he still does It.

Go for it. If have taken the trouble to watch us recently you will see that not everything goes through Dobson, in fact a lot of our stuff is created by Green, who is NOT predicable in the way Dobbo is.
