A Fathers' Day present for a Rugby League Dad? : Mon Jun 13, 2011 11:05 am
If you are looking for a present for a dad who likes to read and loves the greatest game, then from 11 onwards on Saturday 18th June, WH Smith might provide the answer. I am the author of the novel "One Autumn" and will be in there signing copies of the novel which is set during the 1992/93 season with a background of "Work, Family Life and Rugby League".It is set in the fictional town of Ashurst, one that 'borders', Blackbrook, Haydock, Newton Le Willows, Earlestown and Collins Green, has the main character a Saints fan and includes such chapter titles as "The man from Thatto Heath", "Springfield Tales", " Ravenhead went years ago", and "What a town to live in". It is heavily based on St Helens as it used to be and has recently been read and enjoyed by Mickey Rourke, though not quite enough to make a film of.
