Theres late, and then theres Christmas. Hoffman was somewhere between Xmas and New Year.

As I've said, I've not seen it on the tv but I don't think it was as bad as some are trying to make it out to be.

Commited or not as the rules stand at the moment your not allowed to just shoulder the kicker and that is the crux of this,at no point was Hoffman doing anything other than shouldering Wheeler

Weve just watched a fantastic game played in good spirit and all some are talking about is this late tackle( if it was late)!!!

Let's see if the RFL think it's late, they will have video footage they can slow down and look proper.

Do we want the ref to blow his whistle at every 50/50 call and have the game like we had in pre-season against hudds when the was a penalty every 2 mins?

It's a high contact sport played at a High pace.

No, but when a player is kicking he is unable to defend himself. Taking a player out in that kind of vulnerable position is not sporting; it is irresponsibility. We have rules in place to protect players from irresponsibility. Or would you reintroduce the cumberland throw or say that players should be free to freely thump their opposition around the head or upend them on their necks?

Get real, Pete. Doing what Hoffman did may indeed have been adjudged to be legal but in another match he would have been sinbinned. Because what he did was irresponsible, not sporting.

Can't be arsed having this debate from somebody that's never played the game.

Rugby is a tough sport and more things go on than what Hoffman did and alot worse.

If it had been the other way around i'm sure you would be crowing about it calling it a great tackle on us Pies... More interestingly, just after this incident a Saints player was third into the tackle, very hard.. Consistancy is all thats asked for...
