Now we'll see how far we've come : Mon Apr 18, 2011 12:27 pm
Next four games look tough and will tell us whether our recent form has been down to the fixture list or something more substantive (everything crossed!!)

Wigan v St Helens
St Helens v Castleford
Hull v St Helens
Huddersfield v St Helens

Three wins would be an excellent return in my opinion.

I worry that our kicking game and use of the bench may play a big part in the Wigan and Hudds games, especially the Hudds game as their pack is excellent and they have a very strong kicking game. We'll have to be very, very good to get anything at the Galpharm.

Here's hoping whoever steps into the breach at half back have their best kicking boots on over the next few weeks.

6 points from that will be brilliant, 8 points and we'll be in dreamland (and top of the league), 4 points wouldnt be a disaster either given the opposition

I can see 4 points being the return to be honest, anything more is an excellent effort.
I've always thought of McGuire as a good player, and I wouldn't normally wish injury on any player, but there was a certain hint of poetic justice to that.
Another classic:
You forgot to take off the "Saints Reduction Factor" when calculating the ban.

Standard suspension / Saints Reduction Factor = Actual ban for Saints player.

Therefore (2 / 3) = 0.666

0.666 < 1 therefore actual ban equals "less than 1 match".

Therefore ZERO.
Depends on what sort of team we can put out for me.
If we play the goons without the likes of Graham,Perry,Clough,Pryce, Flannery,Gaskell possibly Lomax then I wont be using It as a comparison.

Wigan v Saints will be very tough for both teams.

Saints v Cas the following Monday will be too much for the younger Cas players. This is the first real test they'll have had since they beat Hudds 19th Feb.

HullFC is a hard place to go but they are awful at present. Looking through their Catalan thread and they kicked out on the full three times in the game. If they do that v you lot HullFC will get battered never mind beaten.

Huddersfield will be very difficult especially as their three games before they play you are at Crusaders, Salford and away at Catalan the Saturday before your visit.
Of the four that's the one that looks beyond Saints.

My thoughts too. We can't possibly say how good we are if half our first choice team are missing.

Out of them Lomax will be playing and Clough should be back. Perry will have a fitness test later in the week and will play if he passes but is 50/50. Graham may be able to play on injections but again an assessment will take place later in the week. Meli is also a strong possibility to be back. Obviously we know Pryce, Flannery and Gaskell will be out for a while longer yet.

If Meli doesn't recover in time don't be surprised to see Eastmond back in the squad.

Clough is apparently having nerve problems as a result of his shoulder injury. He has a weakened arm at the moment, according to Simmons in the RL press. So don't be shocked not to see him over Easter.

If Jammer hasn't done any actual damage to his sternum (ie just bruising) then he will need to play. We can't do without him AND Perry against Wigan. A groin problem is a tougher one to assess, though, isn't it, as evidenced by Pryce ...

Good to know that our other big guys - TP and Soliola - can do long minutes if need be. Although whether they could manage that against a tougher side in Wigan, I don't know.
