Lomax and Gaskell : Fri Mar 25, 2011 11:09 pm
The tale of two young halves. I thought Lomax glided around the pitch like he was ice-skating. They barely laid a finger on him. I thought he was immaculate throughout. His passing and more importantly choice of passing was just brilliant, several times he created a break or a half break just through the timing of his passing. With the ball in hand he took on the line like Gareth Hock at a Martin Gleeson party. He was my Man of the Match by some distance, although Wello got the sympathy vote for getting involved a lot and putting his heart and soul into it.... Yawn... Lomax was purring tonight like a classic car, full of confidence and totally bossing it.Gaskell on the other hand is looking increasingly lost to me. He is still very enthusiastic but is becoming more and more tentative as the mistakes mount up. He is struggling massively with the kicking duties he is being given. Apart from one or two long punts that beat the fullback the rest were shocking. His short kicking game seems very poor as well. Does Lomax not have a kicking game? He also shot out of the line several times, only to brush the ball carrier limply with his hand. And I can't get past the fact that he looks like Dhalsim from Streetfighter
