12k never. It would take some serious price cuts to get people to turn up in Widnes after the first 2 opening games. No matter the result at Leeds.
Some where shocked by the 6050 against Quins. Personally thought it was not that bad. We got 10k last year but in only in 2008 we only got 8k. So it's not as big a drop as you would think. DOn't forget there will be alot of fans unwilling to travel, but also unable to travel.
There will have been a proportion of fans that are of an age where they would no longer drive, but a walk to the stadium was do able. Young teenagers and OAP's. I know when I was a teenager I would walk to games on my own. But driving to Widnes would not be an option and lets face it public transport is no substitute.
The move across town will also reduce this walking crowd, but they will be replaced by other walkers on the other side of town. In Widnes we will not attract the people of Widnes so I am under no illusion that this year we'll be about 30 - 40% down on crowds. But then the prices are also up so the club may not take as big a hit as it looks at first.
