Could and should, Eastmond have taken all the time in the world and lined up the drop goal straight from the penalty 10 metres in and taken it from there, under no pressure. Rather than have the ball being passed backwards through 2 pairs of hands and him rushing it a bit?

I dunno. It's a very, very difficult skill that. SL players are not like your Union types, they won't spend 5 of the 6 training days a week practising drop goals and penalty kicks.

In the end he was knackered and could barely swing his leg. I must say I didn't like his body language throughout, but who else is there to take that on? If Longy were still here he would have teed that up to the far post for added drama before doing a lap of honour.

yeah, but he could have just taken a few deep breaths, pulled up his socks had a swig of water, negated the need to even take the tap and gone straight for the drop. Where the players aware of this, do you think?

I know time had gone, but wouldn't he have been pulled up for wasting time? Would he have actually been allowed to stand there and have a brew before going for the drop goal? I don't think he'd have gotten it from there anyway.

I agree with Saddened about his body language. For me, Eastmond doesn't really look interested in most games that he plays, I can't see any real passion there.

That's what I'm asking haha, in the middle of the game, he'd have been told to get on with it and stop pigging around, so even though time had gone, would it be any different?

They should have angled it better. Basically set Kyle deep and central with Wilkin next to him. Ball tapped and shotgunned back and across to Wilkin, Wigan players rush towards him, feeds Kyle to dink it over. The angle was what made it hard.

think you may have mis-interprated what I was saying. I don't mean have a lie-down ring Stan James and see what the odds are on him kicking a last second drop goal.
I meant, compose himself, take 3 steps back, two to the left, run up and take a free drop at goal(albeit from a wider angle), rather than a rushed, snap drop goal.

I don't think Sale or Bath or whoever will be too impressed by him missing a drop goal.
