His post was more about Hampshire as on old fashioned style of halfback rather than a comparison with Murphy
And wasn't it bewareshadows trying to convince you on here Hampshire was heading to Saints? Or was it Magic Superbeetle?

and to be fair I'd been told it was fairly close to happening. It'll be interesting to see what happens next(?) year when his contract is up - I believe he was offered a contract along with Powell(again ?) in the middle of 2014 but terms were never agreed.
I think he's a terrific talent no doubt, but I also think Wigan seem to be doing their level best to stop him developing for whatever reason. There's a terrific post on the matter on your board (I forget who by) suggesting Wigan are more interested in shoehorning short term solutions than long term outlook (uses Jack Hughes as an example) - I think forcing him into the fullback role, because that worked for Sam, is foolish at best. (Of course I've not seen enough of his defence to know if that's the reasoning but even still you don't have players like that in your team for defence)
