Saints would recover but the real worry would be if it was the start of a trend. Most league to union converts in the UK have already had a decent career before they make the move - Eastmond is still quite early on in his career.

Chris Ashton went at an early age but he seemed to be out of favour at Wigan at the time. England RU have seen how good he can be now.

He was playing every week. He was offered far more money, more than Wigan would pay without a salary cap if they had any sense, and took it.

Wigan couldn't match the salary being offered for an relatively untried 20 year old. Too right and personally I hope he goes to the NRL.
I must admit I am getting slightly worried for our game if this keeps going on.
Eventually RL could end up as a feeder system for union which doesn't bode to well for the game we all love.

Did anyone see Chris Ashton's comments on RL in the papers the other day.
He more or less said that RL was not on the same level as union.
