Do you and Warringtonsaint go around asking Wire fans what they think? didn't think so, they speak to a few and then its "oohhh them wire lot are cocky gits stick em in there plaaaace I say"

Its because Wire are up on the up and of that wasn't the case this thread wouldn't be here.

Have a look back through this thread and see how many references there are to the Wire supporters, that should show you why.
Now look at the references to Wigan, it's the team they dislike (for all the pain we have given them over the years).

Erm yeah its because we have a good team and we are enjoying it, I bet in some cases its just they have met a Wire fan who thinks we can we a Grand final (nothing wrong with that) and they don't like it.

They weren't bothered when we was crap.

Unlucky for both of you we are rather good these days.

I have been watching Saints for well over 40 years, have been through the period of Goon dominance, and never, ever thought I would want Wigan to win any game, especially a cup game, ever ever.......however, living in Warrington and having to listen to all the knuckle draggers bang on about how great they are, best RL team ever, having to build a new trophy cabinet, Saints are finished etc etc etc has changed my opinion for this one.

They need bringing back down to earth with a very big bang.

Posters up all over Warrington of Morley with the cup, with the caption "if you want it come and get it"

I hope Wigan do this weekend and wipe that bloody smug grin off their faces. Wire fans - no class whatsoever.

No, a loss to Wigan in a final wouldn't hurt as much as one to Warrington, and I really didn't think I would ever say that.

Hope they knock 7 bells out of each other in the process too.

Given their new foud arrogance after back to back challenge cup wins, and their fans general disrespect to other clubs, and the fact that their fans think it's great to sing "Sh*t, Sh*t, Sh*t Helens" to me in front of my three year old daughter, Might i add being brought up supporting the Saints, i'd go for a Wigan win despite their continued arrogance that they deserve to win everything they compete for since the early 90's!

Having said that though, my inlaws are Warrington Fans so for them i would want a Wire win...

Yeah, annoying isn't it! I remember when some bell end supporter from your bunch shouting 'Wire c**s' right infront of my then 8 year old sister.

Oh and that tool that gave me some stick in the gents during our recent game. Thought it was just banter initially then he started taking it too far because he'd had a skinful of booze. If he had been sober I'd have bounced him round the walls because there was no need for it, plus you were winning at the time.

Not all rosy in your end either then eh?!

Me: I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.

knockersbumpMKII: Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm

I'll get shot for saying this, although I asked this question a long time ago, but I don't care. Because having read all the opinions on here so far, it has done nothing but confirm my suspicion that the Wigan/Saints derby is slowly being overhauled. And trust me, that is not arrogance. I've been unfortunate enough to witness some truly awful Wire teams in years gone by. But to say our recent improvements and success is nothing more than an itch to Wigan and Saints would be an understatement of Everest proportions.

And the comments over our 'arrogance' are pretty ridiculous given what Wigan and Saints fans have aimed at us when we were gash. We're just challenging for once and it's put a few fans out of their comfort zone. I remember some old Wigan fan in our south stand 3 or 4 years ago getting astoundingly aggitated by the mere fact that they were losing to us in a 'Friendly' match. It was unreal to be honest. He just started shouting all this crap about 'Wire will never win anything' etc etc and in doing so provided a little entertainment if anything.
