Did anyone hear Leon's commentary on Wish FM today v Wakefield? Alongside the consummate media professional Wellens, chalk and cheese it was fantastic. No political correctness, no subtlety, no pandering, just about as straight talking as I've ever heard. It was refreshing to hear on radio "To be honest I thought the two points where in the bag before kick off". He wasn't giving any benefit of doubt to Wakefield either, possibly disrespectful at times, but on the other hand he was just being honest. If anyone can remember quotes that would be helpful.
I really enjoyed listening to those two and the WishFM bloke was good too. It was a refreshing change from Murkeyside!
I thought they were both honest without being disrespectful: that we played poorly, that Simmons was not going to be happy with the ball retention, especially as it is something they had been working on all week, and that Wakey, while working hard, were in a different class - which is simply as it is. Although from the way we played it was hard to appreciate that!
Pryce also mentioned how Wilkin was following the instructions of his coach, the clear implication being that others weren't!
