Thaler was very lenient with crusaders tactics of head tackles, lying on and off side. Lomax was very lucky to come away injury free, he seemed to be targeted when the crusaders knew they were going to lose this game.
Thought Wilkin was excellent today, Royce seems to have improved his game, something Mick Potter failed to do.

I think the competition for places as also give wilkin a kick up the backside which IMO he really needed. Royce likes using the Aussie tactic of putting a big man at loose forward like TP, magennis or clough which in effect is like having 3 props, the Aussies do it a lot with the likes of Paul gallan who's like a 3rd prop.

With royce doing this, means wilkin has a fight on his hands for his fave postion at 13. Even if he looses his 13 postion the is also a battle for the backrow when everyone is fit and IMO wilkin knows nobody's postion is safe now under Royce Simmons.

It's great to see Jon wilkin back to his best and doing things he used to do like attack! I honestly think he become to comfortuble under anderson and potter as did few others.

People on here get the wrong perception with me about wilkin and think I don't like him, that's wrong, I think he's a very very good attacking backrow but really frustrates me that he don't put in attacking displays more often when IMO that's the best thing in his game.

Well done Jon wilkin.

Sammut also made the effort to clap all the Saints fans. Not seen an opponent do that for a long time.

Royce on Lomax "All the blokes coming back from injury came back well, although we had to take off Jonny near the end with a bit of a bump." Doesn't sound too bad.

For those who have been criticising the defense lately "It was a good defensive effort from us - Kieron Purtill looks after defence and is doing a top job."

Josh Perry looked very usefull tonight, he is also very easy on the eye
Perry was struggling a bit during the last quater, lack of match fitness? I was tempted to offer him a seat. :D

I noticed that as well. He seemed very emotional throughout the spells he was on the field. He had a massive impact, I wonder why they didn't have him on longer as Witt had a mare. I've not seen much of Sammut so I don't know if he is always like that.

I'm a big fan of perry and have been for about 3/4 years. He IMO is the perfect prop. He's big, tough, hard worker, wants to tackle, makes hard yards and likes the biff aspect if he needs to.

He's been unlucky with injuries and fitness this year but the fact he didn't have a pre season has been major problem as he's still struggling to find his match fitness.

My mrs finds him as a looker as well, with his past history with women I'll be keeping her well away from him, I bet Clinton Newton wished he'd done the same.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

It is refreshing to not actually be able to say who can play where with any certainty. Makes a change from the last few months.

Yes, I was told about three weeks ago from a usually reliable source.
