Have they also factored in the two week Christmas break for the construction industry?

I was away last week for the Catalan v Wigan game, so didn't hear the Radio Manchester interview.

Colguitt did say it was a 60 week build, but said the contractors said all going well, 52 weeks should see it built.

52 weeks from when? The access road isn't even finished yet, the old UG warehouses are still standing(or are they been left there as a reminder of your current ground?) With the best will in the world it will not be ready for July 2011...FACT.
It's fairly apparent that more groundworks have been done for the Salford build than the St.Helens one

Complete rubbish.

Lets get a few things straight.

1. Salford as yet dont have full planning permission, until they do no stadium can be built
2. Access roads for Salfords stadium need to be built before planning permission will be granted in full. As yet the access roads havent been built.
3. The mud moving going on now at Salford is in some respects equivalent to the demolition work done on Saints stadium site about 9 months ago.
4. Saints stadium is planned to open in 2011. Salford themselves say their stadium will only be open in 2012 at the earliest.
5 You cannot state as FACT that saints ground wont open by July 2011 , until that period has passed and a stadium isnt complete you are merely talkign about supposition

It certainly puts Gruntfuttock's photos to shame.

Yea well they have a bigger budget and a more expensive camera

well i believe him he had written FACT in big letters after his statement, that means it must be true !! :D

oh and the infrastructure works, which is what you are calling the access works is almost completed as far as they are contracted to do giving pleanty of site access to the demolition/construction crews

no idea mate the crystal ball has gone cloudy again, but that`s what the chairman said on the radio, so until shown otherwise i would have to say a definite probably , or maybe, or dunno!!

Au contraire, the mud moving as you so eloquently put it is further in advance in terms of preparation to what has been done at yours.
You dont need full planning permission to move mud, I never mentioned anything about planning permission in any case just the state of ground works..
Given the stadium you're intending to have will take 13 months(at best) to actually build which doesn't allow for delays plus any handover period etc will mean your stadium won't be ready for July 2011. Simple logistics & mathmetics really. So your definition of open means it will be officially ready to have paying supporters attend, having some portaloos & a few deckchairs in one of the stands doesn't count as ready

In any case why rush, the season will be virtually over, you'll have to plan to play all your home league games away because suppositioning that the stadium will be ready on an exact date just isn't going to be a reality. Also the RFL wont not issue you with a license plus it'll give the newly laid pitch a good while to settle down so you dont have any Wembley type problems.

yeah well the 'fact' bit was a bit tongue in cheek, I forgot to put a wink after it, but seriously it wont be ready for July FACT! (does that make it better?)
As I said the access road isn't complete, you clearly said almost which isn't the same as complete so my statement was true again.
I'm not trolling, I'm stating what I know to be true.

Re: Stadium Site pictures : Thu Jul 08, 2010 7:50 am
I really love these supporters of other teams, (they have to be with all the negativity) trying to wind people up with their FACTS and saying for certain that it WONT be finished on time, I said earlier in this thread, it could come in ahead of time, or it could over run, The FACT is none of us know , we are ALL just speculating, some people for reasons of their own, some people because they dont want to be disappointed, watch and wait is all we can do and having pointless arguments with Salford supporters about whos stadium is being built quicker than whose is a waste of time
