Hasn't Wane constantly banged on how he wants to finish top ?

All we heard last year is how Wigan was the best team in the super league ("the real " champions") because you finished top, yet this year the team that finished 4th is the best team ?

I guess it's a matter of priority, over time the league has meant less, this year we saw Huddersfield win the league only to be cast aside in the playoffs by both Wigan and Warrington, all in all everyone knows Huddersfield are far from the top team.
So what if Wane last year thought the league was the be all and end all, many fans know thesedays it; means nothing, it's all about the CC and GF. Wigan prepared their season for that and won both.

What do you think? Are Wigan the best team this year? Or where Wigan the best team last year?
Personally I think last years team was better with the GF SF loss to Leeds an anomoly.

I'd like to think that whoever finishs top is the best team in super league , as all your fans did last year. Unfortunately that's not the case these days.

I don't for one min think the likes of Wane picked and chose his games this year in order to win super league. IMO they tried to finish top and didn't as hudds was consistently better. Same goes for Leeds over the last few years, I don't for one min think McDermott deliberately threw games and wanted to come as low as 5th in the league.

correct, he would have wanted to win as many as possible and finish top but that wasn't the Holy Grail he chased like last year. What he did do this year though was not burn out the first choice 17, they were rested more often and kept fresh for the CC and the playoffs. Typical example was the game after CC final, the next match saw 13 changes to the team that won it.

To me, Wigan is the biggest Club in Rugby League and it will be an honour to pull on the famous Cherry-and-White jersey next year. I look forward to working with Shaun Wane and the players at Wigan.”

Still not sure what your point is? Last year, Wane chased the LLS, won it, but didn't have enough left in the tank to win the GF.
This year, he has won both the important finals. Whether that was pure luck, or expert planning, we will never know.
What is fact though, is that Leeds won it, and Wigan have won it. Neither team finished top after the preliminary rounds. That is how the league has been constructed, and however bitter you may be, what's really important is who gets to employ an engraver and buy some brasso.

Hahaha not bitter at all. I couldn't give a **** who wins it. I only care if saints won it so makes no odds if you or Warrington win as I don't like either of them.

My point is, you lot last year spouted how Wigan was the best team because you finished top and how Leeds are disgrace picking and choosing games to win (I don't think they did) and now you lot are totally contradicting yourselves as you have won it from fourth.

Giving up a 5 point lead in the league probably does show that Wane decided to be clever about his team decision this time as Leeds did last season. But anybody who wants to believe huddersfield are a better team than wigan or warrington are welcome to their opinion. how many times have we finished the top since 2010?

Or maybe the fact that Wigan,s Leader and main strike player was missing during that period of 5 point surrender. I beliieve with O'Loughlin and Tomkins missing then Wigan would be no better than Huddersfield and Warrington.
Mr Wane doesn,t like to lose any game so I very much doubt he had a tactical plan to win the play offs from a lower position,
