So are you saying you were in the wrong when Simmons made decisions you didn't like?

There are plenty of players who went on to achieve great things in SL without ever showing an aptitude for footwork. Keith Senior? Scott Naylor? Sean Hoppe?

Your problem is you concentrate solely on a player's weaknesses and use them to define him. Only an utter fool could make a big deal out of returning kicks (which is an important but not game-breaking facet of rugby league) whilst ascribing very little importance to the number of tries he has scored, the way he has scored them and the seemingly trivial detail of his astonishing ability with the boot for someone
his age.

Ok, I concentrate on his weakness, now I'll concentrate on Ho's positives.

He can kick goals and has finished some good tries.

What his positives from your point of view?


If he's as good as you make out then why ain't he playing?

Because Meli wanted to play on the wing, and we have a coaching collective in place at present.

Keith senior was huge and could certainly move for such a big guy, he must have been 16st plus, 6ft 2in and fast with it!

Scott Naylor was strong as a ox, very powerfull direct centre who could power his way thru.

Sean hoppe in his prime was quick, infact do quick he beat Martin offiar in a foot race.

Non of the above relied on other players creating something for them.

Your entitled to beleive what you want but rush and KC are in charge and no way Meli could choose where he's playing.

Rush said when Royce was first sacked that they were taking the advice of the senior players both in coaching and in training. For example, he said they (he and KC) were inexperienced and so may 'do something wrong' in training, so they are collaborating with the senior players on this kind of thing. So the evidence - and it is evidence I am giving, not proof - suggests that there is a collective at Saints at present. Given how close play and team selection are connected, and given that - as I said earlier - turkeys wouldn't vote for Christmas - I very much doubt the senior players will be sacrificing themselves. Given the need of Rush and KC t maintain positivity among the senior players, I can't see Rush or KC upsetting said senior players by dropping them or moving them elsewhere in the line up if they don't want to play there.
