I'm not somebody who doesn't like a player for what they do off the field. Unless their beating up old women or generally acting like Ben Cockayne I don't really care what they do as long as they perform on the pitch. Their personal lives are exactly that and not something I think fans should bring into equation when debating their form / playing ability. Sadly Foster isn't performing up to scratch at all at the minute, that is where I have issue.

I agree that he is out of form. Some saints fans are being too harsh on him I think as we know he can be a great player and a good asset to the club.

People who are suggesting that we drop him to the 20's to get rid of his arrogance amaze me! Yes he has his flaws in defence but name a player of his age/salary that doesn't.

It wasn't just that kick, which he did have to turn slightly with being out of postion but it's been a regular speciality of Jamie fosters for past 6 month.

Maybe so but at the moment we aint got better (except makinson) and he scores points via his kicking. Until we can either buy in or wait for Foster to regain form this level of abuse wont help anybody.

I think most people mean not to drop him to the u20s but to play him there to build some confidence. KP should have little word and explain to him, he's a young lad still learning and a little run in the u20s will do him the world of good.

His arrogance is his personality, he should never change that to please a few fans. I would like to see him in the U20's for a week but only to build his confidence back up and perhaps keep him out of the limelight for a little while, he looks like a lad with a lot of pressure on him.

He played centre all through his ameture and academy life and as I said before taking a high kick is a lot different infront of a small crowd than it is infront of 13,000 at Saints new ground with players like Blanche and Menzies looking for the kill as he will no doubt know himself.

I'm pretty certain he didn't always play centre at blackbrook according to someone else who played with him at the time.

The verdict is still out on his defence, but if he has a few more games like that simmonds will drop him to the reserves for a spell of remedial training. He wasn't good defence-wise at the HKR, Salford or Widnes friendly games.
He is undoubtedly a talented kicker and a top class finisher.

From what I've been led to believe, he is a "confidence" type player who needs to act a bit "big" to "big" up his real lack of confidence. He will not respond well to critisism or hostility because he needs more than anyone else to believe himself. In other words his seeming arrogance cis in fact hiding poor confidence and is all part of his psyche which he needs to perform.

I honestly don't think he is arrogant. I agree that we all need to support him through a rough patch as i've said before. I don't think we have a better option at the moment in Gardener as he is also poor with his positioning too. I think support from fans and a bit of a cheer would work more than sticking him in the 20's. I think sticking him there would shoot his confidence more if it was me I would see it as a step backwards.

Hi-ho-a should not be on the bench for me, should have been given the no 1 jersey ahead of Wello, but it appears he has been tempted over here on the promise of playing in the halves.

As a Wigan fan I'd absolutely love to see Hi-ho-a coming on against us and either Roby, Lomax or Gaskell coming off.

All of the other 3 offer far more in attack than Hi-ho-a, who from what I have seen of him in the red vee, and I know it is early days, runs about, like a headless chicken. He does not seem to 'see' the game.

That said, the game on Friday was not lost by a poor attack it was lost by shipping 30+ points in.

Why is everyone talking about Foster? This is the Hohaia thread, if you want to talk about Foster surely the Jamie Foster thread is a more appropriate place.
