Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. (Winston Churchill)

Yeah what happened there? I was hidden from that by a Crusaders player rudely getting in the way. The crowd went mad, half the Saints team went mad, the Crusaders players all ran in like there would be a dust up, but the referee was oblivious to it and just gave what seemed like a routine penalty?

One of the Crusaders guys was messing about with Lomax's head in the tackle and leaning on his leg. Lomax limped away from that tackle but his limp seemed to disappear prior to him being taken off (which hopefully was just a precaution).

It's a real shame about Ade.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Probably just Royce recognising that the game was in the bag and no point risking him any further.

Witt (I am pretty sure it was him, and he had been acting up all game) grabbed him by the head-guard and bent him backwards whilst he was being tackled. If he doesn't get a ban for that after some of the nonsense people have missed games for, I'll be astonished.

On a side note, although he was penalized for it, it was nice to see Perry not taking any garbage and getting stuck in. We have missed a player like that since Sculthorpe retired, I have been sick to death of seeing us go to pieces against Leeds in the past every time they puff their chests out.

I agree on Perry, he looks like a drunk pub fighter, he'll swing until he's knocked out. I'm amazed at how placid Sia Soliola is for a brute who can snap a man in half with his tackling.

Sia could find himself in trouble for running in and punching :NAUGHTY: but got to admire the bloke for sticking up for his team mates

Big game from Wilkin again his footwork and speed have moved up a notch

So hopefully Wilkin will get a ban for the tackle on Sammut when he tackled him by the scrum cap whilst the RFL are looking into tackles around the head!

Perry was penalised as the instigator and I think Thaler also put it on report.

Perry was penalised because he retaliated.

Tackles around the head should never be tolerated.

Re: Crusaders Match Thread : Sat May 28, 2011 8:52 am
Thaler was very lenient with crusaders tactics of head tackles, lying on and off side. Lomax was very lucky to come away injury free, he seemed to be targeted when the crusaders knew they were going to lose this game.
Thought Wilkin was excellent today, Royce seems to have improved his game, something Mick Potter failed to do.

If he had been tackled by the scrum cap the chances are he would have broken his neck, the officials would have seen it and Wilkin would have walked.I seem to remember the scrum cap coming off twice, was this 2 tackles by the scrum cap or does he not tie it on properly?

BTW,the most ott celebration of a try by Sammut i've seen for ages, you would have thought he'd just won the Grand Final!

He celebrated a try in front of the fans as unfortunately it's been a while since he scored, glad to see the passion in the player tbh.
