It can only be Long out of that list, surely.
It
could be pretty much anyone. All it states is that the player is from a top club and is a top player. You can spin that out pretty far with ease.
Long - Went to Hull on a big contract and hasn't set the world on fire there.
Might be finding the travelling an issue.
Pryce - Well rumoured on here that he
might be on his way out. That would be horrendous for us if we hadn't signed anyone else, I can't see it as it would leave us a player short.
Briers - On a rolling 12 month contract and is always prone to a self explosion. He
could have rubbed Smith up the wrong way with his Wembley celebrations for example. Still think he'll do next season at Wolfs and then retire. But if they had signed a big name 6 from the NRL he
could be available.
Sinfield - The only one I can't really see. Still successful at Leeds and still very popular. Would be a strange move.
Morley - 33 now isn't he? Wire will have no need for him soon. He's won trophies at Wire and at his age may want a move into coaching. Assistant coach spot at Salford is available and he's a Salford boy at heart. Playing out his last 2 years at the Willows/New Ground would be a nice neat ending.
Myler - Clearly not rated by Smith who drops him as soon as the opposition they face is half decent. A triangle deal involving Eastmond to Wire for £350,000 could also happen
Gidley - Been over here a while so probably doesn't count on the register.
Meli - Ditto
Carmont - Ditto
Moore - If KC went round again he'd be available and is technically an England international
Wilkin - International player and come to think of it I did see him with a current Salford player outside his house earlier in the year.
You could probably add another 20 names to the list. It could even be untrue or exagerated out of all proportion.
