personally tackles like that deserve a 7 game ban and i would try to defend ferris if he received 7 games for it. Horrible tackle and even when he realised that Lomax was upside down he still carried through on to him.

Yep. He pled guilty and received five matches plus the obligatory £300 fine.

I think he was lucky myself to only get five matches.

If the grading is 4-8 matches, what on earth do you have to do to get 8 matches?

It may be worth pointing out that the ban for the McKinnon tackle wasn't just 7 matches on the tackle alone.

In Australia they have a 'points' system whereby the tackle will be awarded a certain number of points looking at different factors, for each 100 points a one game ban is given.

The tackler in the McKinnon case was given 325 points for the tackle but then a further 400 points for the injury resulting in a 7 game ban.

8 matches if you get fireworks to go off and the undertaker music starts at the same time as you drop them on their head.

Or maybe an extra match for each part of the body damaged
