Mugwump mocking mental illness for a second time -

"You are mentally ill and I can't indulge your madness any more"

Utter disgusting abusive remark from a keyboard warrior

If we had paid a fee for Alan Bateman in the past two weeks I would have been livid. We bring more players through than any other team in RL, but you already know that don't you?

It's ok bringing them through but why you buying players left right and centre?

I'm pretty sure you said you don't rate him when Warrington was linked with paying £200k for him. Maybe your view has changed now you've payed a fee for him.

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

It's an almost impossible dream to have a team full of players from your own systems. No team can do it IMO because you can't produce players for every position.
Wigan last year had a minimum of nine and a maximum of fourteen in a game, and that's a very good ratio.

To thicken the squad out and cover the losses we've had. We may be good at bringing players through but we're not good enough to just stop all recruitment. We are buying players with potential that can come in and be improved (Bowen aside) and aren't costing the earth. They are being added to an absolute wealth of young, local talent that is currently in the first team squad and on the verge of breaking in to it. We've got an abundance of young, Wigan lads in our first 17 at the moment but we've got even more waiting in the wings. The likes of George Williams, Joe Burgess, Dom Manfredi (A leyther to be fair), Oliver Gildart and Rob Lever will come through over the next two seasons and become top line players. We've got 4 Wigan born players and a total of 6 Wigan produced players in the England rugby league squad. We even have 2 Wigan born players in the England Union squad which is incredible (Plus Joel Tomkins who is Wigan produced). The latter bunch in the union squad probably highlights why we'll always have to sign players from outside the club (there are richer pickings on offer for players elsewhere).

Saints have recruited well for next year and that needed to be the case because your playing catch up but Wigan look to be ticking along nicely. I think the way the Wigan club is run at the moment is the envy of many which certainly wasn't the case 4 or 5 years ago, before Ian Lenagan took over.

Maybe Wigan are lucky enough to be able to pay a fee for players, not many other clubs can do this.

We paid a fee for Amor this year which is the first time in about 10 years.

We have also had to sell a lot of players because they want new challenges, I think we are still more than likely in profit for the money we have received. Must of been close to a million quid for the players sold this season.
