I know it sounds barmy but I'd like Gareth O'Brien to stay permanently. I think he would grow into a cracking player for us. People keep saying we should have a running 6 but I think that's a similar sort of mindset as having a big man nodding it down for a little man in football.

I would like two ball playing halfbacks. Let the other 11 players do all the running.

He's not shown enough for me to warrant us signing him permanently. His defence has been surprisingly good, but he drops too much easy ball.

If we arnt going to sign a top draw standoff I'd rather keep O'Brien. For me he offers better value than an old aussie looking for an all expenses paid holiday to europe.

His defence was outstanding on Monday.

If we cannot find anyone else, I'd love for us to take a punt on him. But will Warrington let him go and if they are willing to, are we willing to meet the compensation they'd want for him?

I think he's very average. But if he plays with the heart he showed against the Goons I wouldn't criticise him too much. He's quite likeable.

I don't rate him. Can't knock his goal kicking, defence and heart but he offers absky
absolutely nothing with the ball and not got the best pair of hands.

He won't take the line on at all. He will pass it to anyone before he has to take it in.

I can't knock his commitment though.

Use Lomax and Swift to do the running. Gives us 2 steady HB's to guide the team around the park. 2 excellent goal kickers too.
