I like Saints at the minute,I still think you're looking for that third star though, previously you had Scully, Long and KC who were the bedrock of your success. I think you have a big two (Lomax and Roby) but need that third potential top class player to make you a dominant force.

It's always tricky to compare past and present teams, especially as the competitors are also at different strengths then to now.

I think you need less superstars now to get to the top of SL, but I think you still need a core 4. 6,7,9 and either 13 or 1.

I'd say we are 2 short.

I really would like Mike Rush to start with Puletua off the bench as an impact prop or possibly starting him over Laffranchi..

I'd play TP off the bench and coming on as a prop, he can devastating down the middle making good meters and also making breaks.

If TP is on the bench as a prop, I'd consider putting Dixon on the bench in the place of clough.

Yeah I would agree with that also his offloading game could reap havoc for the Wire Defence.

I also like TP as a prop, playing in the middle. Sometimes when named at 13 he does this, but sometimes he takes up the wider channell and Sia tends to plays more narrow.This tends to be when we feel that we don't get our value out of him (or Sia, for that matter), I think.

Hopefully in the off season as the minute he is fit, Makinson will be dropped but Makinson is the better winger of the two IMO.

I think Tom's past the point where he'd be an automatic drop.
I think the last time (when Rush and KC took over), they went back to Ade and Meli on the wings for a strategy of using size to bring the ball back.
I'd just like to have him fit a gain to bolster the squad.
Whilst I'd never wish an injury on a player, a couple of weeks out for players like Wellens or Hohaia would give us the chance to see a couple of theories about our youngsters either proved or dispelled - ie gaskell back in or makinson (perhaps swift) to full back.

We seem to have some genuine talent unable to get a look in at the moment and I can't understand why we don't seem to be making use of any loan deals to NL clubs (or lower Superleague clubs) that are often quite good for developing and assessing young players potential.
Wheeler, Gaskell, Forster, Swift are all guys that seem to unable to get a game due to the strength of the squad, but could be great talents going forward.
