Given that Sia is the only Saints player up for discussion in terms of opening a spot in our non-federation players, then so long as the beating has not put him off I reckon Saints would want to offer a good long deal maybe 4 years, maybe 3.When you look at our pack that means our front row will not improve this year or next, unless we can prize a British player away from another club, however there is another way of doing it.
2nd rowers can move up to the front row, peacock being the prime example. Sia could bulk up our front row next year, which would leave us with a 2nd row spot absent. I can think of one 2nd rower who is available. Ellis!!!!
It's not the ideal solution to our lack of prop power, but unless Lance,Perry or La franki get home sick (TP is our best frontrower), then we cannot buy in from the NRL. There are british front rowers who maybe up for contract, but would that be better than buying Ellis and pushing Sia into a role he is pretty much already doing for us.
