It's my job you see, as a credit analyst (I know - yawn!) which I've been doing in various forms since 1978.
there is no way under almost any defination that pilks can be called a british company any more than ford is british.
Yes its heritage/history was british until the shareholders sold it down the river but thats all.
To my fellow pedants, NSG owns "pilks" and has lost money every year since it bought the pilks plc mainly due the debt interest, but has finally effectively broken even this year. In NSG's its annual report, pilks doesn't even get a mention ; it is just part of "European Operations" which only makes up 41% of group sales. Its sad but true that pilks can only remotely be desribed as british.
The top UK group company didn't even pay corporation tax last year according to its last filed accounts- it got a £6.3M tax rebate!!
